Tipi Holidays

The tipi or teepee is a simple cone-shaped frame of wooden poles covered with animal hides, with an opening at the top to let out smoke. A perfect solution for eco living close to nature.

The three stylish Kata tipis here at our cosy glamping site originate from the Sami people of Scandanavia. They are based on a traditional design but use 21st Century fabric and construction techniques to provide a wind-resistant, sophisticated space that is easy to keep warm and homely, perfect for our climate!

Inside the tipis

The teepees are 5m in diameter, sit on a wooden platform and comfortably sleep four adults, two on a double futon bed and two on roll out futon mattress. Beds are covered with contemporary Welsh blankets, throws and sheepskins, plus there are beanbags and fluffy rugs. To complete the glamping experience each has a wood burning stove that heats the tipi in no time and can be stoked up to keep you toasty over night.

There's a recycled gas bottle chiminea on the deck of each teepee that's great for toasting marshmallows or even your toes after an adventurous day out and to complete your tipi holiday experience make a fire in the pit in front of the tipi.
